THE GOVERNING COUNCIL
The Governing Council is the supreme authority of the College responsible for those decisions on policies which have financial implications, the greatest management of the affairs of the College and in particular, the control of the property and expenditure of the school.
ACADEMIC BOARD
The college has an Academic Board comprising of the Provost as Chairman, the Deputy provost, College Librarian, Deans of Schools, Heads of Academic Departments and Chief Lecturers with the Registrar as Secretary. The formulation of academic policies including the organization and control of all academic activities of the college is the responsibility of the academic board, prizes and to
The following are the specific functions of the Academic Boards as contained in the Decree establishing the College.
i.The direction and management of academic matters of the College including the regulation of admission of students, the award of certificates, scholarship, prizes and other academic distinctions.
ii.Making periodic reports on such academic matters to the Governing Council as the council may from time to time direct.
iii.Discharging any other functions which the Council may from time to time delegate to it.
THE BOARD OF EXAMINERS
In line with the Provisions guiding the effective functioning of the collegial system, the Provost constitutes among others, the Board are: all Deans, all Heads/Coordinators of Departments. Heads of Academic Division and the Examinations Officer as Secretary while all School Officers are in attendance. The following are the terms of the Board of Examiners.
i.To vet completed College examination results and make appropriate recommendation to the Academic Board for approval.
ii.To present to the Academic Board for consideration and approval, all matters relating to internal and external examinations.
SCHOOL BOARDS
Each school is governed by a Board which broadly controls the academic programme of the School, subject to Academic Board approval. Statutorily, the Provost and Deputy Provost are members of each School’s Board. The Chairman of the School is the School is the Dean of the School who is elected for a specific period of time from among the Chief Lecturers and principal Leturers in the School while the School Officer serves as the Secretary. All the teaching staff of the School are members of the School Board.
THE COLLEGE MANAGEMENT
The college management, headed by the Provost, is responsible for the day to day administration of the college.
CURRENT PROVOST
The current Provost of the college is The Very Rev. Ass. Prof. Olusegun Oluyomi Odunewu attends University of Ibadan for his first degree and hold M.Ed University of Ibadan. Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago-Iwoye. He holds NCE, B.Ed, M.Phil, PhD at Oxford University Namibia in counseling psychology.
REGISTRAR
The Registrar as the Chief administration Officer is appointed by the College Governing Council. The Registrar is responsible to the Provost for the day-to-day administration of the College. The Registrar is the Secretary to the Governing Council and the Academic Board.
COLLEGE LIBRARIAN
The College Librarian is appointed by the Council. The Librarian is responsible to the Provost for the administration of the Library Department of the College.
BURSAR
The Bursar as the Financial Officer of the College is appointed by the Council. The Bursar is responsible t the Provost for all financial matters of the College.
(A) ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
1.GCE ‘O’ Level, NECO, SSCE or WASC or MBTE passes in at least five subjects at one sitting, three of which must be at Credit level or four Credits at two sittings.
2.Teachers Grade II Certificate with Credit or merit passes in at least three subjects and pass in two other subjects.
3.City and Guilds/ WAEC Technical/Craft/Intermediate Part 11/. Course B Certificate in Building and Wood Work Mechanical or Electric trades respectively plus the Federal Craft Certificate with at least Credit passes in four academic subjects including Mathematics, Science, English Language and Social Studies.
4.Credit in English Language is required for Business Education (Double major) and English Language Course combinations.
5.A credit pass in Mathematics is required for all Science Courses; and while a pass in Mathematics is required for other combinations. A credit pass in English Language and at least a pass in Literature-in English are required for English combination and Theatre Arts.
6.The subjects obtained at credit level must be relevant to the proposed course of study.
(B) SPECIFIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
i.For computer courses, credit in Physics and Mathematics are acceptable.
ii.For sciences, two subjects should come from Physics, chemistry, Computer, Health Science, Biology/Agric,
iii.For Agricultural Science education, at least a pass in Chemistry is required.
iv.For Music, Credit/Merit in any three subjects plus an interest in Music is acceptable.
v.For any second language (L2) courses credit/merit in any 3 subjects plus an interest is acceptable.
